Blood-Stage Malaria Vaccines

Developing new and improved vaccines/vaccination regimes against malaria from the emergence of blood-stage parasites from the liver. In addition we aim to better understand the natural and vaccine-induced immune response during this stage of malaria.

Our key areas of research include:

  1. Development of Blood-Stage virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine delivery systems for clinical testing that improves antibody induction

2. Antigen-screening to define optimal target combinations that neutralise blood-stage malaria parasites, and the development of new candidate vaccines capable of delivering these targets.

3. Development of new mAbs against candidate antigens
